- What aspects of the project or research in the selected lab excite you?
- How will your previous experiences help you to be a successful PhD student?
- How can you contribute to the lab and the institute?
Do you apply to more labs to increase your chances? Great! Explain why these labs are interesting for you and why you selected all of them. You can even write 3 letters one per each project and submit them as one pdf file. Address the letter to the project leader or leaders you want to work with.
Are you using ChatGPT or similar tools? It is ok, these tools can help to correct your style and grammar or give you some prompts. However, we recommend not to use it to write the whole letter. An excellent motivation letter is strongly based on your personal experiences and gives specific examples from your life, which ChatGPT cannot provide.
